Seo Jae-weong, former U.S. Major Leaguer has signed an agreement for a 1.5 billion won ($1.6 million) contract with his hometown team Kia Tigers.
On Friday team announed that both sides has reached an agreement.
Total amount of money is lesser than what Tampa Bay teammate Choi Hee-seop aggreed to when he joined the Tigers in the middle of the season, difference is 50 million won, that is quite a huge amount of money.
The 30 year old right-hander, after wrapping up his nine year career with big league, is expected to take a spot on the Tigers' rotation, as the deal complete.
Seo, with contract as a free agent with the New York Mets in 1998, has now amassed 28-40 with a 4.60 ERA with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Mets.
Seo in Japan has looked for a new team in the big leagues, after spending most of this season in the minors with the Durham Bulls. He decided to return to Korea since there was little expected from both leagues .
According to Seo, "I wanted to wrap up my career on the Kia Tigers. I will try to lift the team to the league championship while leading young pitchers well''.
